Major respect to the school(s) that put this on display.
You hear the argument over and over again: “Society teaches don’t get raped, rather than don’t rape”. While I agree with this, it’s also approached with the sweeping generalization that only women can be the subject of rape and sexual abuse. Men who call rape are often treated as a joke, or worse, dismissal.
I know the majority of my posts pertaining to male rights are backlashes on misandric hate speech, but this is something I feel strongly about. Approaching rape as a gender issue only serves to silence an entire group of victims.
Male…female…it doesn’t matter. Rape is rape.

I am also in no way obligated to say yes to anything. And if I said ‘No I don’t really want to go for a walk’ you could go for a walk yourself or maybe I would want to go for a walk later or maybe we could just do something else. And that would be fine. And unless I volunteered the reasoning behind it, then you don’t need to know why or you ask once I say I don’t want to talk about it you let it go. It’s literally one of the EASIEST things.
Claiming otherwise is a trademark of rape culture. Pushing for a reason when the other person is not comfortable giving one, has none in particular, or has said they don’t want to share is a trademark of rape culture. Feeling you are entitled to either the action itself or a reason behind a no is a trademark of rape culture.

It’s highly flawed to talk about the impact of “pornography” on young people as if it were a monolithic entity. Of course there is some porn which contributes to the general objectification of women in visual media. Some porn is misogynistic, tasteless and dehumanising. But to tar all sexually explicit content with the same brush shows a woeful ignorance of what’s out there. A lot of porn is pro-woman; even more is pro-human, quite simply a celebration of real human sexual expression without any strong bias either way.
